Our
primary purpose is to enhance the well being of all NIU
faculty, staff, retirees and their families.
The Employee Wellness office is located in suite 709 of the
Holmes Student Center and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00
and 1:00 to 4:30 with noon appointments available upon request.
Nancy Apperson, the Employee Wellness Coordinator, invites

- The
Employee Wellness and Assistance Program recognizes that
personal and family problems can negatively influence
work performance as well as affect students, colleagues
and supervisors. The most effective response to these
problems is early intervention. Therefore, the Northern
Illinois University Wellness and Assistance Program provides
confidential, professional consultation and assessment
for employees with a wide range of personal and family
concerns. When necessary the program links employees
and their family members with appropriate services within
both the university and the broader community.
- In
order to enhance the well being of all employees,
the Employee Wellness and Assistance Program provides
Coaching and Mediation for supervisors and employees
in an effort to resolve job performance issues. Customized
Training for departments is designed to meet the specific
needs of the unit. In addition, proactive wellness programs
are offered through the Wellness Brown Bag Luncheons.

Employee Wellness and Assistance Program is committed
to maintaining the privacy and confidentiality
of those who use our services. Information about your
