Skills
Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, journalism, communications, or related field; excellent written and oral communication skills; strong organizational and interpersonal skills; the ability to oversee multiple priorities, pay attention to detail, and work under deadlines; strong creative and strategic skills; the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment; a flexible schedule is necessary as a number of events are after hours and off-campus; experience in web site design and maintenance as well as e-marketing and online social networking sites; knowledge of web design principles and practice, including navigation, organization, and compatibility issues; experience with HTML/XHTML, CSS; and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (especially Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash) or equivalent programs with ability to learn new programs as needed.
Preferred Skills
Strongly Preferred: Two to five years of prior alumni relations experience in higher education. Applications are particularly encouraged from individuals who will add to the diversity of the law school and community. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Director reports directly to the Director of Alumni Events and Public Relations, who is responsible for the public affairs, publications, alumni events, and external programs of the College of Law. The anticipated starting date is January 4, 2010.
