Skills
Earned doctorate in kinesiology or physical education or related field relevant to required area of specialization by time of appointment (ABD considered with established defense date); evidence of effective teaching in the area of specialization, preferably at the college level and in the public schools system; experience in student teacher supervision, evidence of capability to engage in and publish research and present at professional meetings; demonstrated knowledge and awareness of professional developments related to specialization.

Responsibilities
Assistant professor in physical education and kinesiology to contribute to teaching in the department's physical education and kinesiology programs starting 8/16/10. Nine-month appointment on a tenure track. Summer school employment is available dependent upon program needs and other personnel considerations.
Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate/graduate courses with a particular focus on measurement and evaluation and/or motor development and learning. The successful candidate will also be expected to have an understanding of physical education teaching methods and be versed in the teaching of a range of sports skills. Teaching responsibilities may include courses in the areas of fitness concepts and fitness education. Supervise students and engage in scholarly activity in an area that complements existing department interests, research foci, and programs. Willingness to participate in innovative department/college curricular and programmatic development, including but not limited to community outreach activities.
