If the dropdown
boxes on the HR forms do not work correctly you will need to make adjustments
to the settings on your computer. These changes will force Internet Explorer
to open specified MS Office document types to be opened and run in the appropriate
MS Office aEpplication. For example, linking to an Excel file from the HR Forms
Web Page will open xcel to display the form instead of opening it in Internet
Explorer. When the HR Excel forms are opened in Excel the drop down boxes are
activated and provide easy data access with the "first letter search" option.
Based on
the operating system that is running, you will need to do one of the following:
WINDOWS
NT:
NOTE:
This fix must be performed when logged into the workstation on an account that
has Administrator rights. Download the excelfix.reg file and then double click
on it to run it. An alternate method of running this file is to follow the link
to excelfix.reg. When prompted, select "Open this file from its current location".
This will run the file and will make the necessary changes to the Windows Registry.
The result of this fix is that whenever an Excel file is opened through Internet
Explorer, the file will be opened in Excel in a separate window. It will not
be embedded in Internet Explorer.
