Human Resource Services is pleased to welcome a representative from Aetna to campus on Friday, May 19, 2017, to discuss the impact of the changes in plan administration.  Below are the details for the campus visit:

Presentation at 9:00 a.m.
*The representative will be available for individual questions following the presentation until noon.

Below details some of the highlights for each health plan that will be discussed in the presentation:

Aetna HMO (formerly Coventry HMO)

  • Changing from a local HMO network to a national HMO network
  • Self-referral available within the HMO network
  • National network will include the majority of current providers plus additional providers
  • Passport program will no longer apply because of the national HMO network
  • Prescription benefits will be administered by CVS/caremark

Aetna OAP (formerly Coventry OAP)

  • All Aetna contracted providers in IL, MO, IA, WI, IN, and KY will be in Tier I
  • All Aetna contracted providers in all other states will be in Tier II
  • National network will include the majority of current providers plus additional providers
  • Passport program will still apply for those in Tier II footprint
  • Prescription benefits will continue to be administered by CVS/caremark

Quality Care Health Plan (formerly administered by Cigna)

  • National network will include the majority of current providers plus additional providers
  • Prescription benefits will continue to be administered by CVS/caremark
  • Behavioral health benefits will continue to be administered by Magellan

Employees currently enrolled in these health plans are reminded that if they wish to remain enrolled in these health plans for FY2018 no action is needed for continued participation.  New health care cards will be mailed by July 1, 2017.  Although there is little network disruption for all of the health plans listed above, employees are still encouraged to visit Aetna’s website to confirm their providers remain in network for Aetna.

Employees with questions regarding this memorandum or for further assistance can call 753-6000 to connect to Maya Wilk-Siuba, Renee Bechtel, or Liz Guess.
