RE:         State Universities Retirement System (SURS) Individual Retirement Counseling

A Retirement Specialist from the State Universities Retirement System (SURS) will be on campus to meet with individual employees to discuss retirement estimates on November 1st and 2nd, 2017, at the Holmes Student Center, Rooms 304, 404.

The SURS individual counseling eligibility guidelines and procedures are available on the SURS website:  http://www.surs.org/life-events/retirement/counseling

*Please note, employees are limited to one appointment (counseling session via phone or in person with a SURS counselor) or a written estimate every 12 months. While eligible employees are allowed to meet with a counselor every 12 months, it is not necessary to schedule an appointment every 12 months unless the previous estimate information has changed significantly.  If the employee has had a counseling appointment or retirement estimate prepared by SURS within the last 12 months, the employee must wait to request another appointment until one year after the last appointment or estimate.  Members wishing to have the one-year requirement waived must call (800) 275-7877 before they can complete the online request form.

SURS will schedule appointments on a “first-come, first-served” basisSURS will be accepting requests for individual counseling appointments beginning on September 1, 2017.  The registration will close on October 3, 2017, at 4:30 p.m., unless the schedule fills in advance.  To schedule an appointment with SURS, please follow the procedures below:

Eligible employees in the Traditional or Portable plan must complete a retirement estimate request form. You can do this by:
