Throughout the year, a variety of programs related to your overall well-being are offered over the lunch hour. These programs are sponsored by the Employee Assistance Program.

Summer 2018 Schedule

This summer we will be offering classes over the lunch hour focusing on different ways to melt away stress by doing activities that help nurture and relax us. All programs are from 12 - 1 p.m. and have limited registration. Registration is required.

"Gardening Herbs from Start to Finish"

  • Thursday, June 7th

Join hobby gardeners, Melissa Burlingame and Julie Gommel Bailey, to learn tips and tricks for herb gardens. They will share their experiences with growing, harvesting, storing, and cooking with various herbs. A small selection of herbs will be available for demonstration and to take home. Bring your questions and share your experiences. Registration is required as there will be limited seating. Additional information will be provided upon registration.

 "Expressive Art"

Come experience the benefits of the expressive art and learn how it enhances emotional well-being, finding clarity when facing challenges, and better understanding oneself.  Registration is required as there will be limited seating.

 "Revisiting the Lost Art of Letter Writing"

In the next event in our summer Brown Bag series on different ways to relax, we will be revisiting the art and joy of letter writing.  During this session we will provide you with some materials to make or decorate envelopes, different pens, stationery and other fun mail-related items so you can send a note to a friend, family member or colleague.  If you have some letters, postcards or other mail items that you want to work on, please feel free to bring them as well.  Conducted by Lesley Gilbert, Employee Assistance Program & Training Center

 "From Garden to Table"

Come learn and experience hands-on how to inexpensively spice up vegetable dishes with spices and herbs. Our presenter will demonstrate and guide you as you prepare your own dish.  "Life is Better When You Laugh"

During this brown bag luncheon we will talk about the physical, psychological and relationship needs and benefits of laughter. We will also discuss different types of humor the circumstances where it is often most present and necessary. Registration is required as there will be limited seating. Presented by Brian Smith, Employee Assistance Program & Training Center
