Flu Shots Available Fall, 2003
The University will be offering free flue shots to any faculty or staff having insurance coverage through the State of Illinois Central Management Services (CMS). Flu Shots will be held in the HSC Regency Room on Wednesday, October 29 from 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, November 20 from 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Summer Work Schedule
NIU will implement a four-day work week for the DeKalb campus during the summer. The four-day work week schedule will begin on Monday, June 2 and extend through Friday, August 8. The regular five-day schedule will resume as of Monday, August 11.

CMS BILLING PROCEDURES FOR INSURANCE PREMIUMS
It is approaching that time of year where some active employees will have unpaid summer/contract break periods. This may result in payroll periods where employees do not recieve pay.

Tax-Deferred Contribution Limits for calendar year 2003
The Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 establishes maximum standard contribution limits for each calendar year. In calendar year 2003, the annual contribution limit is changing (from the current $11,000) to $12,000.

Summer 2001 - HRS Operations Schedule
The Contracts Records and Reports (CRR), Payroll, and Benefits departments in HRS will fulfill an exacting increment processing and Legacy/PeopleSoft conversion
timetable during the summer months. In order to facilitate the PeopleSoft conversion, HRS will suspend routine operations from June 27 until July 9.

2001 Summer Session Appointments and Payroll Input Dates
Pursuant to policies established in the Division of Academic and Student Affairs, colleges may authorize summer teaching appointments contingent upon the attainment of sufficient enrollment limitations for each course. Consequently, the majority of offering letters and summer appointments can be issued when the respective course(s) has been filled. As of March 1, summer appointments are processed by means of the “Additional Pay Authorization” form. However, offering letters concerning summer teaching appointments should also be provided to Faculty.
