Be a part of the 2nd Annual  CANNED FOOD DRIVE

Thursday, February 14, 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

 

(Sponsored by Student Affairs, Transportation, and Affirmative Action/Diversity Resources)

 

Simply bring your canned goods with you in the morning.

Drop them off at vans, marked with balloons and signs, stationed in parking lots:

 

Campus Life Building (Food Pantry in Sycamore)

Field House (Hope Haven)

Parking Deck (Trans Vac )

Music Building/Art Building (Safe Passage)

Human Resources (Salvation Army)

Campus Child Care (Salvation Army)

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

(To volunteer please call Michelle Bringas 753-1421

 

7:30 am-9:30 am Assist loading canned goods into vans.

9:30 am or noon: Drivers needed to drive vans to designated agency.

Please use this guide when purchasing items.  Donating the listed sizes helps agency efficiently sort and stock their shelves.  Full cases are also appreciated.

 

 

Canned Goods

q       6 oz can of tuna (in water)

q       18 oz plastic jar of peanut butter

q       16 oz can of beans (pinto, kidney, great northern, white)

q       15 oz can of chili (low salt)

q       15 oz can of hash

q       24 oz can of stew

q       5 oz can of chicken

q       15 oz can of fruit (In natural juice)

q       46 oz can of 100% fruit juice

q       15 oz can of tomato sauce

q       6 oz can of tomato paste

q       14 ½ oz can of whole tomatoes

q       11 oz cans of soup

q       22 oz plastic jar of jelly

q        

Dry Goods

 

q       12-16 oz. Box of cereal (unsweetened:  Cheerios, Grapenuts, Oat Bran, Nutri-Grain, Shredded Wheat)

q       18 oz quick oatmeal

q       16 oz bag of noodles

q       1 lb box of spaghetti

q       1 lb box of rice (not instant)

q       7 ¼ oz box of macaroni and cheese

q       1 lb box of graham crackers

q       box of dried fruit or raisins

q       1 lb box of saltine crackers

q       1 lb box of Velveeta cheese

q       box of powdered milk (individual packets)

q       Dry spaghetti mix & chili mix

q       3 ½ oz box of pudding mix

q       1 lb can of coffee

q       48-count box of tea bags

q       baby toiletries

q       disposable diapers (medium, large & extra-large) & pull-ups

q       laundry detergent (powder only)

q       toiletries (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc)

q       13-16 oz box of instant potatoes

q

q       2.5 lb box of cereal or 7 lb box of oatmeal

q       1 gal twin-pack can of fruit juice

q       4.2 lb can of tuna

q       6.5 lb can of vegetables

q       3.5 lb canister of hot chocolate

q       6.7 lb can of chili with beans

q       6.6 lb can of spaghetti sauce

q       5 lb bag of pasta

q       6.6 lb can of fruit

q       5 lb twin-pack jar or can of peanut butter

q       2.4 lb can of coffee

q       24-30 roll package of toilet paper

q       4.4 lb box of instant rice
