Hourly employees in positions not covered by collective bargaining agreements will be paid at the regular rate of pay plus 1-1/2 times the regular rate of pay for all hours worked on any of the above named holidays, or if mutually agreed to, by compensatory time off at the rate of time-and-one-half plus holiday pay.  Employees covered by prevailing rates will be compensated in accordance with local area agreements.  Employees required to work on December 26 and 27 (administrative closure days) will be given time off on an hour-for-hour basis to be used by June 30, 2001, or receive additional straight-time pay at the option of the department.

Per Campus Parking Services, parking enforcement for the 2000/2001-holiday period will be as follows:

December 11-15, 2000  FINALS WEEK: No permit required in student lots (Yellow, Orange, and Brown).  Permits are required in blue lots and parking regulations will be enforced.
December 18-22, 2000 No permit required in student lots (Yellow, Orange, and Brown).  Permits are required in blue lots and parking regulations will be enforced.
December 25 – January 1, 2001 No NIU permits required.  Reserved spaces, and “No Parking” zones will be enforced.
January 2 – 12, 2001 No permit required in student lots (Yellow, Orange, and Brown).  Permits are required in blue lots and parking regulations will be enforced.
January 15, 2001 Holiday (Martin Luther King Jr. Day): No NIU permits required.  Reserved spaces and “No Parking” zones will be enforced.
January 16, 2001 FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES: No permit required in student lots (Yellow, Orange and Brown).  Permits are required in blue lots and parking regulations will be enforced.
January 22, 2001 All regular parking enforcement procedure will be enforced. 

Note:  The visitor’s lot will be open at no charge from December 23, 2000 through January 1, 2001.  Payment will be required again on January 2, 2001.
