The State Universities Civil Service Advisory Committee (also known as the Employee Advisory Committee EAC) will hold an election on October 16, 2007 to fill a term beginning January 2008 and ending December 2011. To be eligible for this position, you must be a civil service employee who has a certified status position in the State Universities Civil Service System and three (3) current, consecutive years of civil service employment at Northern Illinois University. Supervisory approval is required to run as a candidate in this election.
If you are interested in running for election to EAC, petitions and statements of candidacy will be available at Human Resource Services beginning September 17, 2007 at 8:00 a.m. All Petitions, Statements of Candidacy, and candidates statement of qualifications must be returned to Human Resource Services no later than 4:30 p.m. on September 21, 2007. Candidates wishing to withdraw from the election must sign a Statement of Withdrawal of Candidacy at Human Resource Services

Any civil service employee, excluding temporary, provisional, student and extra help, at Northern Illinois University, who is currently employed as of October 16, 2007, shall be granted the time to vote without loss of time or pay.
Only candidates who have filed proper petition for candidacy will appear on the ballot. Write-in candidates will not be recognized.
Any employee wishing to vote must show valid photo identification (i.e., drivers license, staff ID, etc.)
Absentee ballots will be available in Human Resource Services from October 5 through October 15, 2007.
