Due to the half-day emergency closure and surrounding circumstances yesterday, February 6, employees will not be charged benefits for not reporting to work before the 12:00 noon closure. Hourly Civil Service employees who reported to work should record the actual hours worked on their time sheet in the comments section. Hourly employees who did report and who record the actual hours worked will also be eligible for compensatory time equal to the amount of time worked (hour-for-hour) in recognition of their dedication and the weather situation. Consequently, all employees will be paid for the full day without the requirement that benefit time be used for morning absences. Standard procedures will be followed for student employees, extra help and employees already on approved leave for February 6. Payroll will issue specific procedures to departments not completing time sheets.
We appreciate the dedication of our many employees who provided and maintained university services during yesterday's weather conditions.
