The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has revised the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form. The amended form replaces the current form that expired June 30, 2008. Departments should dispose of all prior versions of the form and begin using the new form immediately. The updated I-9 form is available on the Human Resource Services (HRS) website www.hr.niu.edu/go/I9. Utilization of the appropriate I-9 form for hiring transactions is an important compliance requirement.
