*Subject to authorization of a 4-day summer workday schedule in 2008, the Independence Day holiday would be observed on Thursday - July 3.
Hourly employees in positions not covered by collective bargaining agreements will be paid at the regular rate of pay plus 1-1/2 times the regular rate of pay for all hours worked on any of the above named holidays or, if mutually agreed to, by compensatory time off at the rate of time-and-one-half plus holiday pay. Employees covered by prevailing rates will be compensated in accordance with local area agreements. Employees required to work on December 30 and 31 (administrative closure days) will be given time off on an hour-for-hour basis to be used by June 30, 2009, or receive additional straight-time pay at the option of the department.
Per Campus Parking Services, parking enforcement for the 2007/2008 holiday period will be as follows:
December 10-14, 2007 FINALS WEEK: Permits are required in all lots and parking regulations will be enforced.
December 17-21, 2007 Permits are required in all lots and parking regulations will be enforced.
December 22, 2007 No NIU parking permits required. All other parking regulations will be enforced.
January 1, 2008
January 2-11, 2008 Permits are required in all lots and parking regulations will be enforced.
January 14, 2008 FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES: Parking permits are required in all lots and parking regulations will be enforced.
January 21, 2008 Holiday (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day): No NIU parking permits required. All other parking regulations will be enforced.
Note: The visitor's lot will be open at no charge from December 22, 2007 through January 1, 2008. Payment will be required again on January 2, 2008.
