Complete your “Be Well, Do Well” online education.
If you're a first-year student or newly entering transfer student, you are required to complete the “Be Well, Do Well” training video and quiz by the end of the fifth week of the semester. The training video is about 90 minutes long, and you can leave the training and resume watching it, as needed. Then, you’ll complete a 10-question multiple choice quiz to test understanding of the material presented in the training.
As a new part of the Huskie family, you will learn that Huskies are there for each other and help one another to thrive. We know that college can be a stressful and challenging time. The best way to make the most of your time at NIU and beyond is to “be well” by taking care of yourself, supporting your fellow Huskies, reaching out for help and doing what you can to support your overall wellness. We know that when you feel well, you do well.
To complete the training:
- Log-in to Blackboard.
- Go to “Organizations” in the navigation, and choose “Be Well, Do Well: Healthy Decision-Making for College Students.”
- Watch the video (about 90 minutes).
- Take the quiz.
If you have questions about the training, please email bewell@niu.edu.

Parking Permits available for purchase.
Parking permits for the 2022-2023 academic year are available for purchase. 2021-2022 permits expired on July 31, 2022. Annual permits for the 2022-2023 school year will be valid until August 15, 2023.
The new parking permits are “virtual”; you will no longer need a hangtag or sticker for your vehicle. Your license plate will act as your parking permit. Students have the option to add an additional vehicle to their permit, with a maximum of two vehicles allowed. You may choose to list a motorcycle as one of your alternate vehicles under your virtual parking permit, at no additional charge. Students wishing to only purchase a motorcycle permit and not a green, orange, or yellow permit may still do so online. Motorcycles are required to park in designated motorcycle spaces. At no time are the primary and secondary/subsequent vehicle allowed to be parked on campus at the same time under the same virtual permit.
You can obtain your new “virtual” permit online. Visit the Parking Services website at www.niu.edu/parking and click on Access Parking Portal to complete your order.
For those only needing temporary parking, there are short-term parking options available. Short-term permits can be purchased online and options include daily, weekly and monthly permits. Short term parking is also available at the visitor pay lot, pay stations, parking meters and via a new AMP Park mobile app. A map of campus parking is available online.
Parking Services offers several payment options:
- BILL BURSAR ACCOUNT
- CREDIT CARD- All major credit/debit cards accepted.
