Homecoming Block Party: Down Home in Downtown DeKalb
On Thursday, Oct. 8 from 5 to 8 p.m., local fans, students, facutly, staff and alumni are invited to join the Huskies for a down home celebration in downtown DeKalb. The Huskie Homecoming Block Party has something for everyone. Kids activities, a car show, #HuskiePride contests, delicious food options from downtown restaurants, beverages from Byers Brewery and Keg and Kernel, music, and of course HUSKIES!

First Impressions Networking Night.
On Wednesday, Oct. 5 from 6 to 7 p.m., students are invited to practice their networking and communication skills during “First Impressions Networking Night” in Altgeld Hall 315. Alumni and students will use prompts to simulate a networking opportunity, then students will receive feedback about their responses in a constructive environment meant to prep them for their next networking opportunity.

Trivia Night presented by Career Services and the NIU Alumni Association
On Thursday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. at El Jimador, students, faculty, staff and alumni are all invited to form teams (limit five players per team) for NIU Trivia Night, which will feature categories with fun facts about NIU, the surrounding community, and help build career skills at the same time. The registration fee is $10 per team.

Bivalent COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Clinic at the NIU Convocation Center.
The DeKalb County Health Department will host a bivalent COVID-19 vaccine booster clinic at the NIU Convocation Center from noon to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30. Bivalent COVID-19 boosters have been authorized for people who have completed the primary series and people who are ages 12-plus (Pfizer-BioNTech) and ages 18-plus (Moderna).

Ellington's is reopening on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
The reopening of Ellington’s is here! First service is Tuesday, Sept. 27, with a delectable spread that includes bourbon sirloin and veggie lasagna. You can enjoy Ellington’s lunch buffet every Tuesday through Nov. 29 (excluding Nov. 8). Menus are available at niu.edu/ellingtons. Dining Dollars, Huskies Bucks and debit/credit accepted.
