FAFSA changes to delay financial aid offers.
The U.S. Department of Education recently announced that FAFSA data will not be available to colleges and universities until at least the beginning of March. We will share our updated timeline for distributing financial aid offers to returning students for the 2024-25 academic year later this spring once we begin to receive FAFSA data and make the necessary adjustments to our systems.
In the meantime, if you plan to enroll at NIU during the 2024-25 academic year, you are strongly encouraged to complete your FAFSA online as soon as possible.
Stop by our Financial Aid and Scholarship Office in Swen Parson Hall any time during business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday) to get help with your FAFSA. You can also schedule a virtual appointment with one of our financial aid counselors at go.niu.edu/Meet_with_Financial_Aid.
Questions? Contact Financial Aid and Scholarships at 815-753-1395 or email finaid@niu.edu.
