Mental health support anywhere, anytime.
|
NIU Counseling and Consultation Services (CCS) recently added Togetherall to its suite of services. Togetherall is a peer-to-peer round-the-clock support service that allows you to speak to other college students, via an online chat, about things with which you are struggling. This could include home sickness, relationship issues, identity issues, roommate or parent conflicts, loss of a loved one and a variety of others.
While using Togetherall is not counseling, it is an opportunity to talk through an issue with trained college students who can offer an understanding ear. You can use Togetherall by visiting the CCS website or accessing the Togetherall website where you use your NIU email account to register and access the online chat function. The service is anonymous, supportive and safe, with mental health professionals monitoring the site 24/7.

Students taking 9 or more credit hours are automatically billed $1,296.00 for student health insurance for spring 2024. You can find out more information regarding the plan at Aetna's website.
If you have comparable insurance and would like to cancel the plan, the Student Health Insurance Enrollment and Waiver site is open until Feb. 29, 2024. University to upgrade printers on campus.
The University will be upgrading printers across campus in the coming weeks. The current Canon devices will be replaced by Ricoh devices. Currently there are many different models of Canons, and the project will reduce the number of model variances while refreshing our printer fleet. The Department of IT has been working with Distributed IT to test the new devices as well as the new user interface during a pilot project. And after this successful pilot program, the project will begin rolling out replacement devices starting February 13th.
Look for more information, including links to FAQs and deployment schedule in next week’s announcement.

"As a project for one of my counseling classes, I went to the CCTC (Community Counseling Training Center) and that has helped me so much with my success. At first, it sounded scary seeing someone and talking to someone I didn’t know. However, I learned so much about myself and I got myself to open up a lot."
